British Aircraft of World War IIWelcome on
the British Aircraft of World War II site, providing data and photographs
of hundreds of different types of British airplanes. British Aircraft
of World War II is a reference to all known types of aeroplane of British
origin that saw military service during the Second World War. British Aircraft of World War II contains a range form the famous fighters and bombers of frontline units, such as the Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito and Lancaster, to trainers, civilian impressed aircraft and experimental aeroplanes that were tried and tested between 1939 and 1945. Also reference data and photographs of all Non-British aircraft in British Military Service during World War II are included; as a supplement to the listing of all British World War II aircraft on this site, the many aircraft in British Military service from non-British origin are listed here, most of them being Lend-Lease aircraft, but also airplanes that escaped the German invasion and were impressed into British Service. Alltogether, this brings a complete overview of all the aircraft that were used in the second World War by Great Britain and the Commonwealth. For the major Commonwealth countries all used aircraft are listed per country (Australia, Canada, India, South Africa and New Zealand). British Aircraft of World War II latest update: 19 september 2007 (what's new?)
