BRITISH AIRCRAFT DOUBLE EAGLE

BRITISH AIRCRAFT BA IV DOUBLE EAGLE - A six-seat light twin powered by two 130 hp Gipsy Majors, the British Aircraft Double Eagle first flew in 1936 and three were built. One (ES949) impressed by RAF and used for communi-cations duties by Armstrong Whitworth and then Parnall Aircraft until 1944. Second example (ES950) impressed as instructional airframe only. Third aircraft impressed (as 1415) in South Africa 1940 by SAAF and used for photo-reconnaissance by No 60 Sqn.
