DE HAVILLAND DRAGON

DE HAVILLAND DH.84 DRAGON - Seven-seat light transport designed in 1932 by A E Hagg with two 130 hp Gipsy Major Is and first flown November 24, 1932. Total of 115 built by DH at Hatfield for civil use, of which 25 served with NAC (National Air Communications) in civil guise in 1939, 17 being later impressed and used principally by Anti-Aircraft Co-operation Units for night flying. In Australia, the RAAF impressed 11 British-built civil DH.84s and then acquired 87 built by de Havilland Aircraft Pry Ltd as radio/navigation trainers, the first of these fly-ing on September 29, 1942.
