FLEET MODEL 50K -
Twin-engined 'bush' freighter designed for wheel or float operation,
with optional accommodation for up to ten passengers. Prototype
first flown on February 12, 1938, and of five Model 50s built, two
acquired by RCAF in 1942 for potential use as Army paratroop trainers.
One served in ambulance role and both retired in second half of
1944. They were powered by 330 hp Jacobs L-6MB engines.
Max speed, 150 mph (241 kmlh). Gross weight, 8,326
Ib (3,780 kg). Span, 45 ft 0 in (13.7 m). Length, 36ft 0 in (10.97
m).
