FOSTER WIKNER G.M.I WICKO and FOSTER WIKNER G.M.I WARFERRY - Two-seat high-wing monoplane designed by G N Wikner and first flown in September 1936. Eleven built by 1939, of which eight impressed for RAF communications duty, with Service name Foster Wikner Warferry. One other was impressed in New Zealand to serve with the Central Communications Fleet until November 1942. One 130 hp Gipsy Major engine. Max speed, 140 mph (225 km/h). Gross weight, 2,000 Ib (908 kg). Span, 34 ft 6 in (10.52 m). Length, 23ft 3 in (7.09 m). |
