GENERAL AIRCRAFT G.A.L. 55 - Two-seat (side-by-side) training glider designed and built during 1943 to Specification TX.3/43, with steel tube, wood and fabric fuselage and wooden wings. Two prototypes (NP671, NP674) tested from late-1943 on, behind a Lysander.

Max towing speed, 175 mph (282 km/h). Gross weight, 2,407 Ib (1,022 kg). Span, 35 ft 1'h in (10.71 m). Length, 25ft 6'/2 in (7.79 m).
