GLOSTER AS.31 - Of the two examples of this aerial survey biplane designed by HP Folland and built in 1929, one (G-AADO) passed into service with the SAAF in 1935 and was used by that Service (with serial 250) for aerial photography until 1942. The two engines were 500 hp Jupiter XIFs.

Max speed, 131 mph (210 km/h) at 1,000 ft (305 m). Gross weight, 8,570 Ib (3,886 kg). Span, 61 ft 0 in (18.9 m). Length, 48 ft 6 in (14.7m).
