MILES MONARCH - The Miles M.17 Monarch was a three-seat development of Miles M.11 Whitney Straight, first flown February 21, 1938, am final pre-war Miles product for civil use Eleven built, of which one, exported to Belgium in 1938, was returned to UK in 1940 and used for communications b Miles as U-0226 until becoming TP819 ii March 1945 when used by Allied Flight c Metropolitan Communications Sqn. Four others impressed for RAF and one used ii civil marks by Rolls-Royce, all of which survived the war. Standard M.I7 engine was the 130 hp DH Gipsy Major I Srs I.
