PARNALL HECK IIC

PARNALL HECK IIC - Three-seat tourer developed from prototype Hendy 3308 Heck, first flown in July 1934. Six built 1936-37, with 200 hp DH Gipsy Six, of which three used for war-time communications by Parnall and, later, British Parachute Co, in civil markings as G-AEGH, G-AEGI and G-AEMR. One (G-AEGH) impressed March 1943 (as NF749) for No 17 Group Comm Fit. One other Parnall Heck IIC acquired by Air Ministry in 1936 as K8853, with Gipsy Six Srs II engine, used for gunsight development, for which fitted with 0.303-in (7.7-mm) Browning guns in wings; later disarmed for general communications.
