SLINGSBY KIRBY KITE I - Single-seat sailplane derived from Grunau Baby design, the Slingsby T.6 Kirby Kite was first flown August 1935. Twenty-five built, including one with non-metallic control system, for early RAF radar experiments. Fifteen impressed for Central Landing Establishment in 1940 for early glider pilot training. Five in ATC use early 1945.
