April 12, 2004 - Added comments of John Evans, Pembroke Dock, Wales to the Short Sunderland page. John wrote: Please note that only 35 aircraft were built at the Windermere factory in the English Lake District - not 71 as listed. The Windermere factory also did some conversion work upgrading Mark III Sunderlands to Mark Vs.

February 22, 2004 -
Added comments of Peter Hosford (Canada) FX 113526, HMS Implacable, 1771 Squadron to the Fairey Firefly page. Peter wrote: I wonder how many people know that during operations against Japan we changed our 'Markings' to resemble 'London' transport markings, ie a bar across the roundel. Reason:- our roundel was confused with the Japanese roundel, and was a problem with our allies, whose Carriers, due to their wooden flight decks were very prone to suicide attacks.
Note:- all hands, officers etc., were up all night changing the markings. A wonderful, tight knit squadron.
When we were on the move to a land base, being a LAM (E) I was fortunate to be a member of the 'advance' party. and flew with the Squadron. Consequently as we were approaching Australia it was decided to test their Air defenses. My pilot - Garth - seemed to get lost and, if my memerory saves me correctly, we landed in a wonderful place named 'Jervis Bay' .

February 13, 2004 - For the major Commonwealth countries all aircraft used in WWII are listed per country:
- Australian Aircraft of World War II

February 9, 2004 - Added a list of Non-British aircraft in British Military Service during World War II; as a supplement to the concise listing of all British World War II aircraft on this site, the many aircraft in British Military service from non-British origin are listed here as well, most of them being Lend-Lease aircraft, but also airplanes that escaped the German invasion and were impressed into British Service.

January 8, 2004 - British Aircraft of Word War II has a new adress. I moved to lycos because of the speedlinq problems. Now there is enough bandwith, the site will not be blocked anymore. New URL is www.jaapteeuwen.com/ww2aircraft. Shortly I will add an augmented picture index.
By the way: I waited more than two months for the solution speedlinq prommised, but never heart from them again and never got any reply on my emails. Terrible service...

November 29, 2003 - Again, problems with provider Speedlinq: too much data traffic, they said, and blocked the site. After a month of waiting for the solution speedlinq promissed, nothing happened. I will switch to another provider shortly. In the meantime I temporarily deleted the picture index, which took the lot of the data traffic, to enable access to the site. Photographs can still be seen on each individual aircraft page. Due to the blocked site, this side has been deleted from some webrings. I will fix that shortly.

July 27, 2003 - After been cut off for a while by my provider for creating too much data traffic (the pleasure is all mine), added a ink to War Birds Resource Group

June 22, 2003 - Created a new 700+ entries alphabetical index with the possibility to search by manufacturer.

June 2, 2003 - Added the following Indian Aircraft of World War II:

Hindustan Troop Glider

June 1, 2003 - Added the following Canadian Aircraft of World War II:

Canadian Vickers Vancouver
Canadian Vickers Vedette
Fairchild Super 71P
Fleet Fawn
Fleet Finch

Fleet Model 50K
Fleet Model 60 Fort

May 30, 2003 - Exchanged links with World War II Links on the Internet

May 25, 2003 - Added the following Australian aircraft of World War II:

Commonwealth Wirraway
Commonwealth Wackett
Commonwealth Boomerang
Commonwealth Woomera
De Havilland DHA G1
De Havilland DHA G2
Wackett Gannet

This augmentation is a start of adding data and photos of Commonwealth aircraft, being aircraft types that originated in the countries of the British Commonwealth, including types that were designed in the USA but were subject to extensive development by licensees in the British Commonwealth.
Soon I will add more Commonwealth aircraft of World War II: Canadian aircraft and Indian aircraft.

May 18, 2003 - Joined some nice webrings, look at the bottom of the home page.

You've got a photo of one of those? Please contact me!
