AVRO COMMODORE

AVRO 641 COMMODORE - A four/five-seat cabin biplane designed by Roy Chadwick in 1934, the Avro Commodore was powered by the 240 hp Lynx IVC engine. Of six built, two were impressed in 1941, one, DJ710, being used by the ATA at White Waltham until August 1941 and the other, HH979, by No 17 OTU, Cranfield, until August 1942. Two others in Egypt in 1936 were acquired by Egyptian Army Air Force and at least one was still in use for communications in 1941.
